| I have not been consistent in uploading my Dovenote blog posts, but I have definitely not been sitting still! |
| There has been a LOT going on behind the scenes at Lovely Dovely Design, and I have been especially focused on getting The Sherbette Camisole ready to share with you. |
| I had hoped to launch the pattern sooner, but I have realised that I do not just want to release another pattern. I want to make the whole experience of making it feel clearer, more supportive and more useful... and that takes time, thought, effort and planning. |
| The Sherbette Camisole is coming soon to Payhip, Ribblr, Ravelry and lovecrafts. I may also upload to Etsy (but I am not really liking using that platform right now). |
| The written Sherbette Camisole crochet pattern will still be as thorough and detailed as you would expect from me, but I have also been thinking much more carefully about the video tutorials that sit alongside it. |
| Those of you who have tested patterns for me will know how much I enjoy helping makers work through the little details that can make a big difference to fit, confidence and the final result. I LOVE being a part of a community and really enjoy working with my tester groups. |
| The teacher in me finds it very difficult to simply hand over a pattern to a customer and say, “Good luck!” (essentially leaving you to sink or swim). I always root for my makers to be successful with their projects from start to finish, so I have been experimenting with tweaking my current video tutorials into a more guided and organised format. |
| I am looking at using YouTube’s course format (similar to current playlists) so that the tutorial videos are clearly organised in the right order, with any useful extra resources easy to find. I want it to feel less like hunting around for help when you get stuck and more like having me there to guide you through the project easily at each point. |
| You may remember in a previous Doveletter I hinted at hosting and creating crochet-alongs and make-alongs, but I would like them to feel genuinely supportive rather than simply being a shared start date. There is an option for live meetup sessions in this YouTube format. |
